Corporate Biographies - Key Personnel:
Edward D. Losch, PE, SE, Architect, LEED AP
Ed has been active in the field of structural engineering since 1980. He is a licensed structural engineer and architect in Illinois, and a registered professional engineer in many other states. As an active member of the Precast/ Prestressed Concrete Institute he recently chaired the PCI Sandwich Wall Panel Committee and served as a juror for PCI's Harry H. Edwards Industry Advancement Awards. He also served as co-editor and contributor to the PCI Precast Concrete Detailing Handbook.
As a former Associate of The Consulting Engineers Group in Mount Prospect, IL, Ed was project manager for the design of a variety of structures in precast and reinforced concrete, steel and wood. He has also served as Chief Engineer for Dukane Precast and Prestress Engineering Corp, both in Illinois. Ed started LEC as a full-time venture in 1993. He also wrote the LECWall Precast/Prestressed Wall and Column Design program in 1994 and the LECPres Prestressed Beam Design program in 1997. Over
100 companies have since licensed these software titles for use in their engineering departments.
Ed holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana, with a specialization in structural engineering. He is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Building Science at the University of Southern California School of Architecture.

Kenneth R. Kowall, PE, SE, General Manager
Ken joined LEC in 2003 after serving 26 years at the Consulting Engineers Group in Mount Prospect, IL, with 9 years as Vice President and Principal. He has also worked for Desman Associates in Chicago and Carl Walker, Inc. in Glendale Heights, IL. Ken is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois, a licensed architect in Wisconsin and a registered professional engineer in both Pennsylvania and Washington.
Professional committee work includes the Consultant’s Council of the National Parking Association and the Connections,
Total Precast and Professional Member Committees of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI). He was chapter author and peer reviewer for “Dimensions of Parking” in 2000 and a peer reviewer for the “Connections Design Manual”, PCI, 2002.
Project management credits include the Connecticut Tennis Center, New Haven, (winner of the PCI Harry H. Edwards Industry Advancement Award in 1993); Commonwealth Edison Garage, Oakbrook, IL; Music & Dance Studio, Millennium Park, Chicago; Lake Hearn Parking Deck, Atlanta; and the NORPAC Paper Mill, Longview, WA.
Ken holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana, with a specialization in structural engineering.

David J. Larsen,
PE, SE, Project Manager
Dave joined Losch Engineering
Corporation in 1996. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois and a
Registered Professional Engineer in Maryland. He also holds a National
Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying record. In addition, he
is a certified peer reviewer for the City of Chicago Department of
Construction and Permits.
Dave has been an active member of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute
since his participation in the inaugural class of Leadership PCI in 2004. He
is a current member of the PCI Design Handbook and Connection Details
committees.
Project management credits include a variety of precast concrete structures
as well as structures built with steel, wood, masonry, and traditional
cast-in-place concrete.
Dave holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois
at Urbana with a specialization in structural engineering.
Boyan Tchorbadjiev, Project Engineer
Boyan joined LEC in 2002. He holds a Master of Civil Engineering degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT).
